How to wear a Fascinator…..
October 12th, 2008
How do they stay put all day? That is one of the main questions that we are asked by the first-time purchasers of the hair-pieces we sell.
We do have some great how to wear instructions printed on the label that is attached to each item we sell, but to help you all, here it is in print (with a few extra tips too):-
“In order to get the best wear from your accessory, we recommend you secure your updo or hairstyle with regualr hair-pins and then have the fascinator added to ensure it will be secure throughout it’s weartime”
So, you can wear your hair down and add the hair pins to be used as an anchor for the hair-comb or crocodile clip to be attached to and if this is done properly, then it will stay throughout a long day or night.
Chelsy Davy wore one in her hair to Peter Phillips and Autumn Kellys summer 2008 wedding and it looked gorgeous and did not fall out either! (see photo)
If you have an up-do then it can be secured into the style with a base of bobby pins or without if the style is tight enough and the fascinator will stay secure there too. (see photo)
I frequently wear the Maggie style in a half up-do and secure the hair with regular hair/bobby pins before clipping on the style, so it is very easy to do. (see photo)
If wearing one for a super smart function, then a good hairdresser will be able to safely place it and secure it for you until you feel it is ok. Most hairdressers in the UK, Ireland and Australasia will know how to do this as these feathery hair accessories have been popular for so long, they have seen all of the types, but a good hairdresser here in the USA will find it easy to work out especially if you show them the label!
