Tribute to “Penny”
November 17th, 2008
This is the hardest and also the saddest item I ever want to have to write on this post. I must write it to honour my friend and one of our fun and beautiful models from the web site. If you have ever visitied our site, you will have seen her gorgeous smile whilst having fun wearing many different fascinators on a night out in NYC with her friends.
Sadly, Penny (real name Panayiota Demetriou), was tragically killed ina terrible accident yesterday morning in Astoria, Queens. It was on the local news here in NYC, as it is such a tragedy. She was travelling home from a night out with friends in a car service and the car was struck by a Range Rover that had gone through a red light. The driver had a suspended license and was also under the influence of alcohol. He was also due to face criminal charges regarding a murder in Manhattan in 2006. Penny was 1/2 a block from home. The female driver of the car service was also killed and I can only sympathise and send my condolences to them all.
Today has been one spent so upset and there seems to be no sense in this awful event. Penny was studying to be a child psychologist and was currently working at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn. I knew her through a very good friend, Jaqueline, who also worked at Brookdale and she helped my family out with an assessment we had for my eldest daughter. Then, of course, Jaqueline and Penny and many of their collegues took some fasicnators out on a night out and had great fun modeling them and taking photos for me to use on my new web site. She was very pleased to be on the front page and in some other shots too - she was so photogenic we couldn’t not use her.
Time will tell if her family would like us to take them down or keep them there and we will carry out whatever instruction they would want us to. I am very happy to have had the pleasure to know her in her short life and hope I can meet her in heaven one day. Rest up Pennyxxx
